VISTA Literacy Program

 

VISTA Position Description (Partner Projects)

Assist in the development/implementation of a program marketing plan.Implement a financial literacy initiative that includes building partnerships with banks, credit unions or other institutions, developing and offering two or more in-service workshops for tutors/teachers on how to successfully integrate financial education into their instruction, developing partnerships with a credit counseling agency, financial planning association or other qualified partner to offer free financial counseling/mentoring services for adult learners, overseeing the coordination of an adult learner led group project that results in a product or event that promotes sound money management with other adult learners and securing grants to underwrite the cost of implementing the programs. 
 
Establish a pilot project to provide guidance and support to adult learners in identifying resources and exploring their options with regard to career development and continuing education.  Create a project based on the needs of the community. 

Activities may include:

1)Recruitment of volunteers to be trained in the chosen project
2)Marketing of the specific program
3)Recruitment of an adult learner committee
4)Building of partnerships with local organizations
5)Research of promising practices, curriculums, etc
6)Creation of trainings, webinars, and/or curriculums
7)Research and secure funding for the project
8)Creation of a project evaluation
