Online Tutor Training

The Florida Literacy Coalition launched an online statewide tutor training this fall. Participants cover topics such as how adults learn, phonemes, language experience stories, lesson planning, and more.

To view a course demo, go to www.floridaliteracy.org/training and click "Login" to create a new account. Then, follow the "demo directions.”

We will be hosting courses in February, April, and June 2012. If you are interested in participating in this free statewide-facilitated training, please sign up here.

For more information on how your organization can facilitate your own version of this course, please contact Annie Schmidt at schmidta@floridaliteracy.org or 407.246.7110 ext 207

Here’s what participants are saying about the Course:

“Overall I was very happy and thankful for the opportunity to be part of this program. I know
that the information and lessons I learned will help me better understand my role
as a tutor. Thank you.”

- Estrella Azus-Zilberberg, Friends of Literacy Broward County

“Thank you for providing quality workshops like this!”
“[This course] has been a tremendous asset for us”
- Literacy Council
of Manatee County

This course is made possible through the generous support of the Florida Department of Education, Division of Career and Adult Education, Americorps VISTA and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
